As a lot of you may have read on Twitter or Facebook, the 2nd #TweetupAthens is taking place next Saturday on 22 March 2014. We are meeting at 20:00, in Arismari, a lovely restaurant in Halandri. (Catherine says everything is delicious there, so please come with an appetite). For more details about the restaurant, check out this article in in2life magazine.
However, I have people asking me “What is this?” and “What does “#tweetup” mean?
Tweetup is an event, where people from Twitter come together to meet each other in person. It is simple as that. Ours is for linguists; translators, interpreters, language lovers. That means that we will have the chance to really get to know each other, in more than 140 characters. We will chitchat, we will exchange ideas and best practices and we will make friends.
You are more than welcome to join us even if you don’t have a Twitter account or a Facebook page, or any social media account really. To help us organize the event and to make sure there will be enough food for everybody, if you want to join us please add a comment in the Comments below with your full name (and email, phone number or Twitter account if you want).
Spread the #xl8 (hashtag for translation) and #1nt (interpreting) love to your friends and come meet us for a linguistic feast!
