20 (or so) questions on how Charles Ek works
This series of posts was inspired by Lifehacker’s How I Work series, which I’ve been reading for quite some time and thoroughly enjoy. It’s about time we discover how our colleagues work and get to know them a little better.

Languages you have studied or currently speak: I have studied English and Spanish at university. I’m currently studying Dutch and am *trying* to learn Arabic. My mother tongue is French.
The project you’re most proud of: I have translated an 80-age toolkit for Indigenous Peoples’ and Community Conserved Territories and Areas (ICCAs) for the UNDP, which I’m pretty proud of. Volunteer translation is so rewarding!
Your current computer setup: I have a faithful Toshiba laptop, although I wish I could work on a Macbook.
Do you own a smartphone? Yes, a Samsung Galaxy.
Favorite time of the day: Two actually: first the morning, when you wonder which surprises the day will bring and the evening, because it is finally quiet(er).
Favorite gadget (apart from computer & smartphone): My other half’s tablet.
Next conference/event you’re planning to attend: None planned at the moment. Having a two-months old tends to slow things down a little…
How many hours per day do you usually work: Up to 12 hours sometimes, but I love it!
Are you an introvert or an extrovert? An introvert but an extrovert once you get to know me better.
Are you an early-riser or a night-owl? An early-riser. I’ve never been able to achieve good work during the night.
What do you listen to while you work? Sometimes the TV, or just the city sounds which motivates me for some reason…

Your babies or pets, incl. names and ages: Tanya, almost 3 months old.
Next city/country you want to visit: USA!
Favorite vacation place: Istanbul (it was simply magical!)
Favorite book: Pride and Prejudice. I know, how cliché, but you can never go wrong with classics!
Favorite song: I actually don’t have any – but give me some soul, some blues or some rnb and I’m a happy girl!
What are you currently reading? I’m currently reading The Preacher by Camilla Lackberg (I have had a thing for Swedish literature ever since I’ve read the Millenium saga!).
